音乐学位课程顺序
The Metropolitan State University of 丹佛 is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music and offers three types of music degrees (音乐学士, 音乐教育学士, 文学学士)和辅修. Below are the recommended course sequences for each of our offered degrees.

音乐学士
The 音乐学士 degree prepares students for further graduate studies, 或者从事演艺事业, 作曲家, 或者私人工作室老师. 被这个项目录取, students must demonstrate the capability of developing a high level of musicianship. For admission to the performance concentrations, students must pass the Music Performance Audition upon completion of MUS 1720, 私教II. For admission to the composition concentration, students must pass a review of their composition portfolio upon completion of MUS 3650, 基本构图技巧.

音乐教育学士
The 音乐教育学士 degree prepares students for careers teaching instrumental, 合唱, 以及K-12学校的普通音乐, and satisfies the requirements for K-12 licensure in the State of Colorado. Students must apply for and be granted admission to the music education program prior to any enrollment in music education methods courses, 监督现场经验, 学生教学. 获得执照, students seeking this degree must satisfy all applicable requirements of the 音乐系 and all applicable requirements of the teacher education and licensure programs in the School of Professional Studies teacher education program. Students should read the teacher licensure sections of the Catalog and stay in regular contact with both a music and teacher education advisor.
This degree program is approved by the Colorado State Department of Education and has full accreditation by the National Council for the 认证 of Teacher Education.

文学学士
The 文学学士 degree with concentrations in Music and Music Theory offers vigorous study of music alongside a strong liberal arts education, equipping students with versatile skills that are highly valued in the broad spectrum of music-related careers. The 文学学士 degree in Music requires a minor in a secondary area of interest, allowing students to customize their degree according to personal career goals. The 文学学士 in Music Theory is an extended BA and does not require a minor.

The 音乐小 is well-suited to students who wish to expand their background in music, offering extensive ensemble performance opportunities, 一对一私人指导, and a basic understanding of music theory.
Below is the recommended course sequence for the music minor. Since many of the music courses have co-requisites, students minoring in music are encouraged to work closely with their music academic advisor to develop a course sequence that fits well with the courses in their major.
